Munster
The historic city centre of Munster is a vivid centre where history and life come together. ’Prinzipal market’ with ‘Lamberti church’ and the ‘Peace of Westphalia’ city hall as well as the cathedral with its forecourt are just some of the distinguished historical buildings situated in the old town.
Also the culinary scene of a real student town gives its characteristic to the old town and not just in the so-called ‘Kuhviertel’ - ‘cow quarter’, traditional Westphalian restaurants are to be found in every corner of the historic city.
Osnabruck
As centre of an economic region with about 700, 000 inhabitants, which is situated in Lower Saxony and is next to North Rhine-Westphalia, Osnabruck has played a leading role ever since it first appeared on the map.
Even if it is not apparent from first sight, the city is an important industrial city. The range of industrial goods produced in Osnabruck covers nearly all industries. However, more than half of all workplaces in the industry are to be found in the metal manufacturing sector. Copper refining, vehicle construction and engineering are prevalent in the region. In addition, the paper industry is another strong main pillar of industry.
